The comprehensive evaluation includes the following services that have been clustered
in a cost-effective manner to offer the quality of care your pet and
you deserve
“Aspen” Franklin, our official hospital cat, has been with us
since the beginning! He has spent his days as a gracious blood donor, tour
guide, and the Director of Feline Relations at Mid- Atlantic Veterinary
Hospital. About a year ago, Aspen was diagnosed with cancer. Through semi
yearly exams we were able catch the disease early and in turn add some time
to his oh-so busy life!
- “Puppies and kittens are cute but older pets have
found a special place in our hearts!”
Why should my senior pet participate in this program?
Please read our objectives below to understand why we encourage
all of our Senior Pets to participate in this important life changing program.
- To provide preventative medicine to avert disease and promote the health
of your Pet.
- To diagnose problems early allowing a greater chance of slowing or
reversing the affects of aging.
- To proactively manage all systems of your Pet’s body.
- To optimize the quality of life for your aging Pet using
Important facts about senior testing
An aging pet’s organs gradually deteriorate and may lose their ability
to function properly. We use senior testing to promote early detection
and treatment of disease, so we can maintain health and prevent illness
during your Pet’s senior years. Early detection of disease often
gives us more effective and less costly treatment options. In addition,
senior testing also helps establish normal baseline values for your pet,
creating a point of comparison for the future

Is my Pet a senior?
If your pet is 7 years old or older, we consider him or her senior. Your pet may
seem healthy well into his/her senior years. However, many problems common to
senior pets (like kidney or heart failure) may not be present symptoms until your
pet becomes seriously ill. “Senior Seven” is our comprehensive senior care
program that helps to identify problems early enough to institute preventive
healthcare measures.
What’s included in Sr7 testing?
Our senior wellness program had been created to be a
comprehensive evaluation of your entire pet. A number of services
have been clustered in a cost-effective manner to offer the quality
of care you pet and you deserve. Below you will find a list of tests
for senior cats and a slightly different list for senior dogs.
